Christopher González

Christopher González is a renowned scholar and professor of English at Southern Methodist University, where he holds the Jacob and Frances Sanger Mossiker Endowed Chair in the Department of English. With expertise in 20th-century American literature, multiethnic literatures of the US, film, comics, and narrative theory, Christopher is the author, co-author, and editor of seven books, including Reel Latinx, which won the 2020 International Latino Book Award, and Permissible Narratives, awarded Honorable Mention for the 2019 Perkins Prize for the most significant contribution to narrative studies. In 2024, he published his first memoir, Big Scary Brown Guy. His work, research, and teaching reflects his commitment to diversity and representation in literature and media. Christopher earned his Ph.D. from The Ohio State University, where he was affiliated with the world-famous Project Narrative.
